CRASH HELMET: MUST BE WORN.
PARTICIPATION: only members of Federations or Sports Club can take part in this event. The touring cyclists are required to produce a permission as well as a declaration of the currency of the insurance and especially of third parties liability insurance coverage for Italy and abroad.
REGISTRATIONS: must be sent to the organization or to the hotel-owner/keeper or you can apply for membership admission directly to the secretariat on Friday, April 2th 2010 from 3pm to 7.30pm and from 9.30pm to 10.30pm.
ENTRY FEE: the entry fee to the Bicycle Touring Week is € 60,00 (special fee for hotels members of the Hotel Association). This amount includes the technical assistance, medical care and souvenir. It is possible to participate in the daily touring rides by paying € 20,00. The touring cyclists must personally stamp the attendance booklet every morning one hour before departure.
MEDICAL SERVICE: includes ambulance with doctor.
ESCORT CARS: only those providing services and bearing a special pass shall be permitted.
TOURING STANDINGS FOR PARTICIPANTS-AWARDS CEREMONY: the clubs that take part in all the stages of the bicycle touring event with at least five touring cyclists at the starting line will earn a place in the standings. Awards will be presented to the first 25 clubs, riding in all stages: 10 points are earned for each rider participating in each stage. The daily and final standings will also include clubs with less than five touring cyclists at the starting line. The standings will be drawn up as follows: clubs: by adding up the total points obtained during the different stages throughout the week by all the touring cyclists of a given club. The club with the most points will win the trophy for the XXX INTERNATIONAL BICYCLING TOURING WEEK BY THE SEA, while local culinary specialities will be awarded to the clubs that follow the winner in the standings.
RULES: The Organizers do not accept any responsibility, either for themselves or their colleagues/organizational staff, for any accidents or damage which may occur to people or things before, during and after the event or as a result of the same. All touring cyclists must fully comply with the road regulations. Touring cyclists who ride outside of the group marked off and escorted by the Traffic Police and by the vehicles with signs stating “INIZIO E FINE MANIFESTAZIONE CICLOTURISTICA” (START AND FINISH OF THE EVENT) must scrupulously obey the highway code, with failure to do so possibly leading to civil and criminal liability. During the non-competitive rides, participants must respect the average speed set for each stage, which cannot exceed 25 Km/h on flat portions.
IMPORTANT: please note that “International Bicycle Touring Week” is a non-competitive event, a bicycle touring meeting with the start and finish within the group, escorted by the Traffic Police. The speed limit is 25 km/h. The program may be modified during the week for reasons beyond the organizers’ control. Should changes be made, they will be communicated the morning before departure.
